I've been mulling over my reaction to the Trek reboot film. I stil intend to see it again, at some point soon hopefully. But I think my reaction was summed up by someone else who said, they enjoyed it, but it didn't feel like a Trek film. And I think that was the point.

I'd agree with that.
It's an enjoyable film and probably better than 60% of previous Trek Film outings.
However it does require you put your brain in neutral for bits of it. Which I think is a major failing for a Star Trek story, as 'the ability to think about it' is one of the strengths of the franchise.
